silk is hand-woven with jacquard techniques using colourful designs. Tanchoi of Varanasi Uttar Pradesh is
skillfully woven at home under the supervision of expert master weavers. Varanasi is famous for their jacquard hand
weaving. This craft involves a detailed
and sophisticated process where the Katan silk warp and the Katan silk weft are
controlled by jacquard machine and design pattern appear by using graph point paper card which
is mounted on the top of handloom according to a predetermined design. Multicolour
Flowers & paisley designs are popular. It is the most unique art form of Uttar Pradesh
handloom heritage.
